Major Break in Cape Fear Escorts Human Trafficking Case: 62 Additional Charges Filed

The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office announced that Christopher Todd Evans has been given an additional 62 counts of human trafficking, bringing his total charges to 229 felonies in connection to Cape Fear Escorts, an illegitimate company involved in commercial sex exploitation. Evans' bond is set at 4.5 million dollars. The Coastal Carolina Human Trafficking Task Force, comprising multiple law enforcement agencies, has charged six people in relation to the investigation, which identified over 150 victims. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are seeking more information from the public.
