Miami-Dade Couple Arrested for Smuggling Cuban Women and Forcing Them into Prostitution

Vicenta Polanco and Luis Ariel Escalante were arrested in Miami-Dade for smuggling Cuban women into the U.S. and forcing them into prostitution. They lured the victims with promises of work as exotic dancers but instead coerced them into prostitution, using their passports as collateral. The victims were made to work daily while Polanco and Escalante collected their earnings. The pair was arrested after the victims contacted the police and had their apartment searched, where significant evidence was found. Both suspects were held without bond.
