On March 28, 2024, three people were arrested at Breeze Spa in Statesville, North Carolina, for their involvement in the solicitation of prostitution. Mei Qun Hu, 54, the manager, faces felony promotion of prostitution and unlicensed massage therapy charges. Juhua Wan, 46, was charged with solicitation of prostitution and unlicensed massage therapy, while Hong Du, 60, was charged with practicing massage therapy without a license. The investigation, which began in October 2023 after multiple complaints, revealed inappropriate touching and offers of sexual services in exchange for payment. Authorities also discovered similar illegal activities at a related spa, A-1 Spa (renamed Yan Spa) in Monroe. The investigation is ongoing, and further arrests may follow.
